Gannan Medical University Academic Journal (GMUAJ), a comprehensive medical academic journal, is hosted by Gannan Medical University (GMU) and published home and abroad. Established in 1980 with original name Gannan Medical College Academic Journal (GMCAJ), GMCAJ, as an internal literature, was published irregularly. Authorized by General Administration of Press and Publication in December 1987, GMCAJ was converted into a biannual, published in public and converted into GMUAJ as a quarterly in 1989 and as a monthly in 2002 with CN:36-1154/R and ISSN:1001-5779.
    Since the establishment, GMUAJ aims at adhering to the Four Cardinal Principles, implementing the guiding principles of national education, science and health, prospering academic research, strictly abiding by laws and regulations concerned, being oriented to economy construction, timely reflecting, exchanging and promoting the latest achievements, technologies, experience of medical research and education home and abroad and promoting the development of health causes.
    GMUAJ mainly boasts columns of Basic Medicine, Pharmacy, Clinical Medicine, Survey Report, Medicine Literature, Clinical Nursing, Experience Exchange, Medical Education and Management, Doctor-patient Relationship Research, Chinese Soviet Areas Research etc.
    GMUAJ is included by China Academic Journal (CD), CNKI, Wanfang Database-Digital periodicals, Chinese Science and Technology Periodical Database and China Academic Journal eva luation Database and won the Advanced Science and Technology Periodical Award of the Second Excellent Science and Technology Periodical of Jiangxi Province in 1997, the Excellent Performance Award of CAJ-CD Criterion in 2003, the Layout Design Award of the Third Excellent Periodical of Jiangxi Province in 2008 and the Excellent Edition Quality Award of National University Science and Technology Periodical in 2009.
