On August 22, sponsored by the Ganzhou Medical Association and co-organized by FAHGMU, the Academic Annual Conference of Pediatric Surgery Branch of Ganzhou Medical Association （AACPSBGMA）and the 5th Forum of the Hemangioma Diagnosis and Treatment Progress (FHDTP) in 2020 were held in FAHGMU. GMU President Liu Qian, the First Affiliated Hospital of GMU (FAHGMU) President Zou Xiaofeng, and Professor Tao Qiang, the President of Jiangxi Children’s Hospital, attended the meeting and delivered speeches and academic lectures respectively.

    During the opening ceremony, Liu Qian delivered a warm welcome speech and declared the opening of the meeting. He introduced the Application Prospect of Robot Surgery in Pediatric Surgery, and described the development of robot surgery in pediatric in China. He also shared the experience of the application of surgical robot in resection of large pancreatic tail tumor, radical resection of ovarian tumor and kidney cyst drainage. At last, he made a prospect for the application of robot surgery in pediatric surgery.

    Zou Xiaofeng introduced the history of FAHGMU and the process of medicine, teaching and research of pediatric surgery. He said that FAHGMU will be able to provide the high-quality medical services for the people in Ganzhou, the Soviet Areas, in the future.

    The meeting also conducted academic exchanges, and the diagnosis and treatment of hemangioma and vascular malformation in children were discussed. Pediatric surgeons of FAHGMU, Liu Haijin, Yang Huifang, Huang Haijin, Chen Feng, Liu Jinping and Zeng Linshan, shared the diagnosis classification and treatment method of children’s hemangioma, vascular malformation, as well as the clinical research and basic research and other aspects in an all-round way. All the surgeons discussed the issues heatedly.

    This academic annual meeting reflected the overall strength of pediatric surgery in the southern Jiangxi and initiated a new development mode under the new situation. The forum on hemangioma and vascular malformation played a positive role in promoting the diagnosis and treatment.
    The conference was conducted in the form of combination of online and offline activities, with 95 representatives from offline activities and more than 1,500 participants from online activities, which set up a good communication platform for improving the level of pediatric surgery diagnosis and treatment in the southern Jiangxi.
