On the afternoon of March 5, Fan Xiaona, director of the Division of Scientific Research Industry, presided over the meeting for the COVID-19 research projects in the Huangjin Campus. GMU Vice-President, as well as the director of the Division Scientific Research Center, deans etc, attended the meeting which was broadcast live by the software “DingTalk”.
    At the meeting, the GMU emergency research projects for COVID-19 were developed rapidly in the early stage of the epidemic, which all researchers can do their research first before authorization so as to encourage the school staff to carry out the research on the prevention and control of the epidemic situation rapidly and achieve certain research results in the hope of providing strong scientific and technological support for the epidemic prevention and control work. Each project leader made a detailed report on the research progress.
    Each school and directors concerned raised the suggestions concerned based on the status quo.
    Peng Weijie appreciated the research achievements reported in the previous stage, which were required to actively be promoted. And he put forward the requirements for the next step work. Namely, first, researchers were required to do the cooperation on epidemiology with the designated hospitals of Ganzhou, actively expand the research on mental health, public health management, law, health economics, post rehabilitation treatment and other fields, and jointly carry out research on key issues with the medical staff offering Hubei Province aid. Second, all schools should step up the resumption of scientific research, pay attention to the arrangement of laboratory bio-safety work and actively organize the application of national fund projects and scientific and technological awards in 2020.
