On the morning of January 24, GMU held a meeting for the Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia (NCP) surveillance and control in the Huangjin Campus. GMU Vice-President Chen Liang presided over the meeting and the directors of relevant departments attended the meeting.
    The conference first conveyed the important instructions of China President Xi Jinping and the instructions of Premier Li Keqiang, as well as the spirit of the relevant meetings and documents of the State Council, the People’s Government of Jiangxi Province, the Ministry of Education and the Department of Education of Jiangxi Province.
 

    Chen Liang pointed out that GMU leaders attached great importance to the prevention and control of the NCP. The NCP Surveillance and Control Group (NCPSC) was founded, which GMU President Liu Qian acted as the head and NCPSC Office set up in the Third Affiliated Hospital of GMU (TAHGMU).
 

    Chen Liang stressed that the prevention and control of NCP was an important political task currently. All departments must first attach great importance and the main leaders must personally grasp the epidemic prevention and control plan. Second, it was necessary to intensify duty, ensure smooth information, establish working account to timely grasp the travel situation and health status of teachers and students. Third, the prevention and control measures should be implemented by classification, and relevant departments should do their own work well. Fourth, the control of public opinions must be done well, and the propaganda department should strengthen positive publicity and guidance. Fifth, all affiliated hospitals of GMU should do a good job in monitoring the people entering the hospital, taking powerful measures to ensure medical staff to carry out rescue under their own safety, and actively cooperating with governments’ departments to do a good job in local epidemic prevention and control.
    After the meeting, Chen Liang led a team to the Huangjin Branch of the First Affiliated Hospital of GMU, inspected the prevention and control work, visited the front-line medical staff on New Year's Eve and thanked them for their hard work.
