On the morning of September 5, the School of Rehabilitation (SR) successfully held the Meeting for the Supervisors and Graduates. Wen Youliang, the Dean of SR, Wang Maoyuan, the Associate Dean of SR, all the supervisors and associate supervisors and 18 graduates attended the meeting. Wang Maoyuan hosted the meeting.
    Wen Youliang introduced the majors’ development, discipline platform and the teachers of SR in recent years. He also stressed that each graduate should realize the significance of postgraduate education in talent training. Each graduate had a supervisor and an associate supervisor, the supervisor includes Doctors with fruitful scientific research achievements from SR, SP, SBMS and other Schools, while the associate supervisor was mainly composed of senior doctors of the Rehabilitation Department and therapists from FAHGMU and TAHGMU. Wen Youliang pointed out that it was necessary to emancipate the mind to promote development, to push the process by means of reform, to accept resources with an open mind, to firmly grasp the first priority of development, to accelerate the connotative development and to make efforts to establish a medical university. In addition, he put forward expectations and specific requirements for the Batch 2020 graduates.

    Professor Liu Huiyu and Professor Huang Hao, the supervisors’ representatives, and Su Guangjun, the graduates’ representative, made speeches successively. Wen Youliang presented the Letter of Appointment to the supervisors, and all the students signed the Mutual Selection Form of GMU Postgraduates’ Supervisors.
    Professor Liu Huiyu, the supervisor of Batch 2020, and Doctor Liao Linrong, the Director of the Rehabilitation Department of Yixing Rehabilitation Hospital of Jiangsu Province, were invited to make special academic reports. 
    Professor Liu Huiyu made the lecture “eva luation of Swallowing Disorders and Rehabilitation Strategy”, which he first combined the development of the rehabilitation medicine of North Guangdong People’s Rehabilitation Hospital, encouraged the students to learn professional knowledge well to lay a solid foundation of basic skills, explained in detail the eva luation methods of swallowing disorder, and treatment strategies, and listed a large number of clinical cases to show the effect after treatment. Doctor Liao Linrong gave a lecture “The Thoughts of Physical Therapy”, which he showed the educational situation and development prospect of physical therapy home and abroad with pictures, proposed the direction of physical therapy in the future, and encouraged students to study hard and develop in an all-round way based on his own experience.
