Recently, FAHGMU launched the latest OSCE Intelligent Assessment System for the first time to assess the clinical skills of the graduates majoring in anesthesiology and clinical medicine sciences.
A total of 1,092 students participated in the assessment, and 20 assessment stations were set up, which mainly assessed the first aid, medical, surgical, gynecological, paediatric, and other related knowledge and clinical skills of students.
The assessment process was coordinated by the staff of central control room, and students took part in the exam orderly under the instructions of the system. The examiners used iPads for real-time electronic scoring and the scoring can be calculated within a few minutes. All the scoring can be applied for the exam effect analysis, which not only reduced the use of a lot of human and material resources, but also reached the purpose of efficiency, standardization, convenience and accuracy.

The exam was completed by 116 clinical teachers and 22 members of FAHGMU, which assured the fairness and justice. Examiners and students participating in the exam expressed that the application of OSCE Intelligent Assessment System further stimulated students’ enthusiasm for the basic clinical knowledge and skill operation, which laid a solid foundation for participating the Examination of Practicing Doctors’ Qualification in the future.
