GMU Holds the Orientation for Freshmen

    During September 21-24, GMU held the Orientation for freshmen.
    The Orientation was broadcast via live streaming and the main venue and branch venue were set up respectively. Professor Zhong Jirun, resident police officer Chen Jun, Associate Professor Gong Xi and Professor Liu Shanjiu were invited to give 4 special lectures on GMU’s history, safety education, mental health education and the Hongyi Spirit education respectively in the Huangjin Campus.

    Professor Zhong Jirun introduced GMU’s history, teaching condition, construction of each major and postgraduate section, teaching characteristics, development strategy and so on.
    Chen Jun’s lecture started from the common types of campus frauds, which let students have a new understanding of frauds and learned more knowledge of frauds prevention. Meanwhile, bank clerks were invited to give a detailed introduction on how to protect personal information and account and other aspects of financial security, making students benefit a lot.
    Gong Xi started the lecture from the following aspects, namely, actively adapting to stressful changes, setting goals and making plans for university study, improving interpersonal relations, etc. She interacted with students through stories and fun games so that students can master a lot of mental health knowledge in a pleasant environment.

    Professor Liu Shanjiu started his lecture from the historical background of medical education in the Soviet Areas, main sources of medical workers for the Red Army, teaching characteristics in the Soviet Areas, etc. He illustrated the hard process of the medical education in the Soviet Period, and advocated students to continuously carry forward the Hongyi Spirit.

    All the lectures were rich in content and thorough in explanation, and students felt they gained a lot after listening. Bai Yuehan, a student majoring in clinical medicine sciences of Batch 2020, said that she felt proud of GMU after the orientation and she was willing to make contributions to GMU’s development.
