On the afternoon of June 5, the second plenary meeting and the final sitting of the 4th Session of the 9th Teachers Congress and the 10th Employee Congress were held in the Conference Hall of the Administration Building in the Huangjin Campus. GMU’s leaders, Li Gongjin, Liu Qian, Zeng Zexin, Chen Liang, Huang Ruizhong, Ye Junming, Zhang Xiaokang, Gan Yafen, Liao Zhiping, Lai Chuanjing, and the director of the Trade Union Wang Sikun attended the meeting. In addition, 134 official representatives from 13 delegations and 32 nonvoting representatives attended the session as well. President Liu Qian hosted the meeting.

The final sitting adopted the Administrative Work Report, the Financial Work Report and the Work Report of the Trade Union of GMU.
Li Gongjin, Secretary of GMU Party Committee, made a summary speech on “Emancipating Mind, Innovating Development”. First of all, on behalf of the Party Committee of GMU, he extended warm congratulations to the success of the session and extended heartfelt thanks to all the representatives, teachers, students and staff who had worked hard for the session.

Li Gongjin pointed out that the Teachers Congress and the Employee Congress were important issues of the staff’s political lives. The second Party Congress of GMU determined the goals and development ideas for the next five years. And the Teachers Congress and the Employee Congress decided the key tasks and goals for this year.
Li Gongjin pointed out that emancipating minds was the premise and basis of achieving the high-quality development.GMU faculty should have the courage to accept novel things and to break the stereotypes. He believed that the liberation of minds will make breakthroughs and achieve a leap in development.

Li Gongjin stressed that emancipating minds meant abandoning stereotypes and establishing new philosophy.
Li Gongjin required that GMU should make new deeds in emancipating minds. To achieve this goal, GMU should focus on the following four aspects: the basic tasks of fostering virtue through education, the all-round implementation of connotation construction, the “5 Projects” Construction, the construction of application-oriented medical university.

Liu Qian pointed out that all the representatives should earnestly study and understand the spirit of Li Gongjin’s speech and convey the spirit to other teachers and students. He hoped the spirit can be implemented into the daily work and all the teachers and students can spare no efforts to accomplish all the tasks and jointly promote the great project of establishing a medical university.
Before the Closing Ceremony, Li Gongjin hosted the presidium meeting of the session, eva luatedthe Resolution (Draft)on the Administrative Work Report, the Financial Work Report and the Work Report of the Trade Union of GMU, and listened to the discussions of each group.
The 4th Session of the 9th Teachers Congress and the 10th Employee Congress ended up with GMU School Song.
