On the afternoon of March 23, after successfully completing the medical rescue tasks, 85 ICU staff of the First Affiliated Hospital of GMU (FAHGMU), who were included the 9th medical team offering Hubei Province assistance, took the flight RY8996 to arrive at Ganzhou Huangjin Airport safely. Li Bingjun, the Secretary of the Party Committee of Ganzhou People’s Government (GPG), Zeng Wenming, GPG mayor, Liu Jianping, chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference of Ganzhou, Liao Chengming and Yao Yong, GPG leaders, Li Gongjin, Secretary of the Party Committee of GMU, Liu Qian, GMU President, Zhang Xiaokang, GMU Vice President, FAHGMU top leaders and staff representatives, went to the airport to welcome the “heroes”.

    The airport held the highest ceremony for the team members. As the team members walked out of the cabin door one after another, the staff who had been waiting for a long time presented flowers to the “heroes”.

    On behalf of the top leaders of PGP and 9.83 million people of Ganzhou, Li Bingjun extended sincere congratulations and warm welcome to those medical staff for successful task completion and safe returning, and expressed heartfelt thanks for their hard work and contributions.

    18 singers sang the special song "Dawn Time" to express their respect and blessing. Xu Xiaojun made a speech on behalf of the medical team.

    On the afternoon of February 20, 85 medical staff from FAHGMU departments concerned constituted the 9th medical team offering Hubei Province assistance, and Xu Xiaojun acted as the head of the medical team. After strict training, on the afternoon of February 27, the team officially entered the Central South Hospital of Wuhan University and took over the ICU in the East Area of the Floor 12 of Building 4.

    On January 26, February 4, February 6, February 11, February 17 and February 20, the FAHGMU altogether sent 109 medical staff to Wuhan and Suizhou in Hubei Province to fight against the pandemic, ranking the third in terms of volume in Jiangxi  Province. In order to assist Suizhou for pandemic prevention and treatment, Dr. Yuan Xiaoliang remained in Suizhou.

    After the simple and grand welcome ceremony, the medical team members lined up to go to the long-awaited bus which drove to the centralized rest point, and they will return to work 14 days later. In front of the motorcade, police motorcycles formed an arrow array to escort the “heroes”. Li Bingjun and other leaders waved, watching the team leave.

    In the critical moment in Hubei Province, FAHGMU responded positively to the call of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and rushed to offer Hubei Province assistance.

    "It is winter that we leave Ganzhou. Now it's spring. Today, we come back home."
