On this beautiful and crisp autumn day, a rich perfume of osmanthus blossoms was wafted by the breeze. On the morning of September 17, the Opening Ceremony for Batch 2019 students was held in Huangjin Campus. School leaders Li Gongjin, Liu Qian, Zeng Zexin, Chen Liang, Huang Ruizhong, Xiao Shuhui and Zhang Xiaokang attended the ceremony. GMU Vice-President Ye Junming presided over the ceremony.
 

    The opening ceremony officially opened in the solemn and magnificent national anthem and the brilliant Military Boxing performances of all the Batch 2019 students.
 

    GMU President Liu Qian firstly extended sincere welcome to all the freshmen on behalf of all the teachers and students in GMU. Meanwhile, he also extended sincere thanks to the parents and teachers who carefully trained the freshmen.
 

    Liu Qian pointed out that GMU was a university with history, precipitation and responsibility. Since its founding in 1941, GMU has trained more than 60,000 excellent graduates, safeguarding the health of the people. Over past years, under the leadership of the new leading group, teachers and students of the whole school kept in mind their original missions, strived to promote the construction of the "5 Great Projects", trained good talents with both virtue and technology, and strived to run medical universities with satisfactory people. The connotative development has achieved phased results. The achievements of "4 Ones" have attracted much attention. Namely, GMU have won a first national prize for students’ competition. Clinical medicine sciences majors, anesthesiology, stomatology and medical imaging specialty were included in the first batch of enrollment. A national research platform was set up. A provincial-level first-rate discipline was built.
 

    Liu Qian hoped students to know the history of GMU, be grateful, grow up with GMU and learn the motto of GMU. The freshmen were requested to know how to learn knowledge, behave themselves, do things, live their life, know the gains and losses, cherish dreams, and set up correct values. Besides, the freshmen were required to know patriotism, youth for CPC forever, and strive with the motherland.
 

    The representative of teachers Liu Zhiping from the School of Basic Medicine Sciences (SBMS), the representative of graduates Hu Ke, the representative of freshmen Ma Ruoji from Class Shuangli of Batch 2019, made speeches successively.
 

    During the ceremony, the school leaders also wore the school badge for the freshmen representatives.
