On September 19, led by Lu Yan, the Director of the State-owned Assets Management Department of Nanchang Aviation University, a team of 5 experts from the On-site Laboratory Safety Inspection Team of the Department of Education Experts in Jiangxi Province, came to GMU to inspect the laboratory safety work. GMU Vice-President Ye Junming met the inspection team and attended the report meeting. The relevant functional departments, including the Security Division, the Asset Management Division, the Academic Affairs Division, the Scientific Research Center, deans and leaders in charge of laboratories, took part in the inspection.
 

    During the briefing, Ye Junming delivered a welcome speech and reported the self-inspection of laboratory safety. He said that through the special management of laboratory safety and dangerous chemicals, GMU further implemented the responsibility of safety management, improved the safety work system and various rules and regulations, reducing the potential safety hazards over past years. At the same time, the experts group was requested to put forward valuable opinions and suggestions for GMU through the on-the-spot inspection, and guide the safety management of GMU laboratory to a higher level.
 

    Luyan, the group leader, introduced the purpose, content and form of the inspection. She said that the on-the-spot inspection arranged by the provincial education department aimed at urging universities to further strengthen laboratory safety, improve the safety management system and mechanism, find and plug security loopholes, and create good environment and order for experimental practice teaching and scientific research.
    In accordance with the requirements of the "University/College Laboratory Safety Check List (2019)", the experts group conducted in-depth field check on the Prevention and Treatment of Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases Laboratory, Function Laboratory, Chemistry and Pharmacy Laboratory. Experts carefully inquired about the establishment and implementation of relevant systems and checked the storage of dangerous chemicals, waste disposal, warning signs posted and other issues. The Group also consulted relevant documentation.
 

    The expert group held a feedback meeting on laboratory safety on-site inspection after all-round inspection of the laboratories of GMU. At the meeting, the expert group gave feedback on the inspection and affirmed the overall work of laboratory management in GMU. Namely, GMU attached great importance to laboratory safety. GMU enjoyed a clean tidy experimental environment, as well as civilized teachers and students and GMU gave a display to the rigor and norms of medicine everywhere. At the same time, some suggestions and opinions on laboratory safety were put forward by experts.
 

    Ye Junming thanked the expert group for the on-site safety inspection and careful guidance. He said that in accordance with the guidance of experts, GMU will set up a reform to further clarify the responsibility system, improve the system construction and strengthen safety education so as to provide a strong guarantee for building a satisfactory Medical University for the people.
