To deeply implement the philosophy of aesthetic education in the new era and promote the Red Medical Ethos, GMU held the first art exhibition themed "Advancing Quality through Aesthetics Education, Cultivating Great Talents with Red Medical Ethos" on May 22, showcasing teaching achievements of the "University Aesthetic Education" course. Huang Ruizhong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of GMU, and Lai Chuanjing, a Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of GMU and Director of the United Front Work Department of GMU, attended the event.

The exhibition was meticulously planned and refined. From class preliminary selections to final program confirmation, 71 classes nominated 142 artistic performances and 148 calligraphy-painting works. Through layered screenings, 13 performances and 21 artworks stood out to grace the stage. Students presented diverse art forms—ethnic dances, poetry recitals with musical accompaniment, traditional music ensembles, drama, chorus, solo singing, Peking Opera, Huangmei Opera, and calligraphy-painting—translating aesthetic education lessons into vivid practice. Each piece embodied the faculty and students’ pursuit of beauty, serving as a powerful testament to the dynamic reform of aesthetic education curricula.

In his address, Lai Riyong, Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, emphasized that the "University Aesthetic Education" course should leverage this exhibition to deepen teaching reforms, integrate aesthetic education with professional and ideological-political education, and nurture students' growth through aesthetics. He urged students to embrace art as friends and culture as roots to enhance comprehensive qualities. The audience reacted warmly, noting they deeply felt the charm and value of aesthetic education through the event.

This exhibition not only spotlighted the concentrated achievements of aesthetic education curricula, but also exemplified GMU's practice in deeply integrating aesthetic and ideological-political education. Aesthetic education plays a vital role in shaping students' sound personalities, enhancing humanistic literacy, and cultivating cultural confidence. In the future, GMU will continue to uphold the philosophy of "educating through aesthetics and edifying through culture," strengthen education on forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation, and under the guidance of the Red Medical Ethos, continuously explore new paths for aesthetic education to help students grow into new-era talents with noble sentiments, innovative spirit, and practical abilities.

More than 300 participants attended the event, including officials from the Students’ Affairs Division, Development Planning and Discipline Development Division, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, course team members, and undergraduates from various majors.
