Recently, the 13th Pan-Pacific Conference on Rehabilitation (PPCR), hosted by the Department of Rehabilitation Science of Hong Kong Polytechnic University and co-organized by the University of Chiang Mai in Thailand, was held at the Queen  International Convention Center in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Diao Yingxiu and Pan Jiaxin, the Batch 2021 graduates majoring in medical technology (rehabilitation field) from the School of Rehabilitation (SR), attended the conference with their supervisor Dr. Liao Linrong, gave speeches and had exchange in terms of wallpapers.

Diao Yingxiu gave an presentation under the theme of "Effects of Repetitive Permanent Magnetic Simulation on Chronic Low Back Pain: A Randomized Controlled Trial". Repetitive Peripheral Magnetic Stimulation (rPMS) is a treatment method that applies a group of magnetic stimuli to peripheral nerves and muscles so as to improve function and alleviate pain. rPMS is a rehabilitation treatment technology with the advantage of safety and no pain, and it has good clinical application prospects. Under the joint guidance of supervisors Liao Linrong and Liu Haozhen, Diao Yingxiu and Pan Jiaxin have completed two clinical studies in the field of rPMS treatment for chronic musculoskeletal pain (CMP).

It is reported that the SR adhered to the spirit of “Red Medicine” in training talents over past years, continuously boosted the integration of "Treatment, Rehabilitation & Recuperation" in talents’ training, and encouraged students for exchange, so as to build a good atmosphere for talents’ training.
