Recently, the 11th Jiangxi Province International Students Chinese Language Contest (JPISCLC) in 2024 ended. International students from 28 universities within the Jiangxi province participated in it, and the representatives of international students selected by GMU won the Excellent Award.
The purpose of this contest is to take Chinese as a medium and International students as a bridge to tell the story of Jiangxi province and showcase the charm of Chinese language and culture. Through personal experience and insights of international students studying in Jiangxi province, this contest aims to showcase the educational and teaching achievements of international students, enhance their Chinese language proficiency, and promote cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries. The contest includes Chinese speech, talent display, and Chinese cultural knowledge Q&A. In the talent display link, GMU carefully prepared a singing and dancing show "Sorry, My Chinese is Not Good". The cheerful melody and catchy lyrics deeply attracted the judges and other contestants on site.
SAMUEL, an international student from India, said, "I really enjoy music and it's my first time to sing Chinese songs. After this performance, my love for Chinese music and cultural arts has grown even stronger. I'm grateful to the school for providing such a great opportunity to showcase myself and meet more talented international students." SHABANI, an international student from Tanzania, said that many people in Africa enjoy listening to Chinese songs, that this contest made him realize that his Chinese language ability was poor, and that he will continue to study hard to learn Chinese language and culture and make friends with more Chinese students.
GMU has been committed to creating a "Second Classroom" for telling Chinese stories through Chinese language teaching and cultural practice activities, and cultivating more international medical talents with knowledge, friendship, and love for China. The Excellence Award fully demonstrates the achievements of GMU's education for international students.
