From September 26 to 27, GMU held a training class for doctoral teachers under the theme of “Carry forward the Red Gene, Strive to be a Good Teacher with Faith, Virtues, Solid Foundation of Knowledge and Benevolence” in Ruijin, Yudu and other revolutionary education bases. Zeng Zexin, the Deputy Secretary of GMU Party Committee, Gan Yafen, the Director of Organization Department of Party Committee, and Fan Qinghua, the Executive Vice President of Party School, attended the training.
Zeng Zexin made a speech, stressing that a teacher was the greatest and most sacred occupation, and a university teacher bore the implementation of the fundamental task of educating people with moralities, as well as the glorious mission of educating talents for the country. He said that the doctoral teacher was the treasure of GMU and the important force of GMU’s development. In order to continuously improve the ideological and political quality of doctoral teachers, especially to help them to keep firm beliefs, GMU Party Committee organized doctoral teachers to go to Ruijin, Yudu and other places to have traditional revolutionary education every year, which gave birth to positive results.

Professor Liu Shanjiu and Professor Zhong Jirun from the Research Center of Medical and Health History and Health China Strategy in the Central Soviet Areas were invited to make special lectures. The training was based on actual situation, combining the teaching with the special lectures, so that all the members can receive ideological and political education.
Standing before the Monument to Red Army Martyrs in the Red Army Square, all the trainees paid respects to the martyrs, presented flower baskets and all members of Communist Party reviewed the oath of CPC in the face of the Party flag. And the doctoral teachers tasted the water of the Red Well, so as to salute Chairman Mao.

The trainees went to the Yeping Village Revolutionary Site and Shazhouba Village Revolutionary Site to visit the provisional Central Government of the Chinese Soviet, the Red Army Square, the site of the 1st Soviet Congress, the History Museum of Central Revolutionary Base, the Memorial Park of the Chinese Soviet, the Memorial of the Starting Place of the Long March, the ferry of the Long March and Chairman Mao’s former residence. They also listened to the revolutionary stories, and visited some Red Army villages and martyrs’ offspring, where they felt the great changes brought to the countryside by the reform and opening up, new rural construction and the targeted poverty alleviation.

Professor Liu Shanjiu and Professor Zhong Jirun from the Research Center of Medical and Health History and Health China Strategy in the Central Soviet Areas made lectures on “The Medical Education in Central Soviet Areas” and “Carrying forward Red Gene, Advancing the Hongyi Spirit” respectively.

Of the closing ceremony, 8 representatives of doctoral teachers made speeches, saying that the training was an opportunity to study and exercise the Party spirit, and that they would continuously carry forward the spirit of Soviet Areas, the Long March spirit, the Hongyi spirit and make contributions to GMU.
Gan Yafen made a summary, saying that the training was clear in theme and rich in content, which strengthened doctoral teachers’ sense of mission. She also hoped that each doctoral teacher can inherit the revolutionary spirit, firm their beliefs, carry forward the scientific spirit, give full play to the backbone role of high-level talents and synergetic role of the team, make good development plans and make positive efforts for the new development of GMU’s scientific research work.

The training was jointly held by the Organization Department of Party Committee, Party School and the Civilization Practice Center of the New Era. It was also the third batch of doctoral teachers’ training class jointly held by the 3 departments of GMU. At present, a total of 151 doctoral teachers have been trained.
