On the morning of September 7, the opening ceremony of GMU Stone Culture Exhibition Hall and Scientific Base of Aesthetic Education were held in the Huangjin Campus.
    Shou Jiahua, the President of China Ornamental Stone Association (COSA), attended the ceremony. What’s more, Wang Xiaolie, the former Secretary of the Party Committee of Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, Zhong Changhai, the Deputy Secretary-General of COSA, Jia Junxiang, the Director of COSA Office, Lei Hansheng, the former Vice-Chairman of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) of Ganzhou and other relevant leaders of COSA, as well as the related leaders of Ganzhou government and GMU, and more than 100 representatives attended the ceremony either. Vice-President Ye Junming hosted the ceremony.

    Li Gongjin extended a warm welcome and thanks to all the leaders attending the ceremony. He pointed out that China President Xi Jinping said that the aesthetic education in school should be strengthened and improved in an all-round way, and students should be educated through aesthetic and culture education to improve their aesthetic and humanistic qualities. Therefore, GMU Stone Culture Exhibition Hall is a beneficial practice to implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping and to enhance the appeal and influence of aesthetic education.

    Li Gongjin pointed out that Chinese Stone Appreciation Culture is one of the miracles in the traditional culture and the exquisite stone is like a poem, a painting and an appealing movement, which can be carved and polished, just like education. And the education is to enhance students’ aesthetic consciousness and sentiment so that students can get improved in the edification of beauty. Li Gongjin, on behalf of GMU, expressed thanks and respect for Lei Hansheng’s efforts in guiding the construction of the exhibition hall, renting and exhibiting the private collections for free and contributing efforts to the popularization of aesthetic education of GMU. Next, GMU will further perfect the functions of the exhibition hall, expand relevant aesthetic courses and build a scientific education base for aesthetic education. 

    After the opening of the base, the participating leaders and guests visited the Stone Culture Exhibition Hall.
    After the ceremony, part of leaders and guests participated in the conference on “Research on the Formation and Mechanism of Rock and Mineral Popularization in Southern Jiangxi”. The experts had an in-depth exchange and discussion on the popularization of rocks and historical development of ornamental stones, etc. Lei Hansheng hosted the conference.
