During the visit, Ye Junming and the group went into the villages and rural areas under the heat, as well as the students’families, communicating with their parents, knowing their economic situations, talking about the study and life of students in campus and introducing the financial aid policy of China. And they listened to parents’opinions and suggestions on GMU financial aid. At last, they presented money and gifts for expressing sympathy and solicitude to those students.
Ye Junming said that students can report any difficulty to their teachers in time, and GMU will never let students drop out of school due to financial difficulties, and students were encouraged to build confidence, self-reliance, study hard and give back to the society. Meanwhile, Ye Junming also asked about the plan and implementation of “the Five Priorities” benevolence practice activity, and he demanded that the students should do more housework to reduce the burden of their families. Those students and their parents were very grateful for GMU’s care.
The visit was organized by the Students Affairs Division, combining online and offline methods. 7 visiting groups were arranged by various Schools according to the principle of geographical proximity, and a total of 11 students from Economically Disadvantaged Families were visited. The leaders and teachers of each School took an active part in the activity, which improved the pertinence and effectiveness of the visit. The visiting group introduced the financial aid policy and promoted the connection between parents and GMU through the visit. At the same time, the students and parents felt GMU’s care and help, which strengthened their determination and courage to overcome the difficulties.
