The Delegation of Chinese Academy of Sciences Visits GMU

    On the morning of August 2, Zhou Chenghu, the Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and his delegation paid a visit to GMU. And a meeting was held in Room 401 of the Administration Building in the Huangjin Campus. Li Gongjin, Zhang Xiaokang and Peng Weijie attended the meeting. Vice-President Peng Weijie hosted the meeting.

    Li Gongjin, the Secretary of GMU Party Committee, extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He made a brief introduction on GMU history, educational philosophy, talent training and development, and expressed great admiration to the team of academicians for their conscientious working attitude. He said that CAS and GMU should further intensify all-round and multi-level cooperation on the disciplinary construction, talents training, etc. and accelerate the implementation of cooperation projects. He also had an in-depth communication with the delegation on the nature and mission of GMU and the application of telemedicine diagnosis and treatment and big data in the field of hygiene and health, pandemic prevention and control, digital twin and digital governance.

    Academician Zhou Chenghu spoke highly of the contributions and achievements made by GMU and its affiliated hospitals during the COVID-19 prevention and control period. He hoped that GMU can realize the interdisciplinary integration, promote the combination of precise prevention and control and precise treatment, strengthen cooperation, and continue to carry out in-depth research, which made contributions to the process of modernization in the revolutionary areas of the south of Jiangxi Province.

    All the attendees expressed their opinions actively. Both sides had an in-depth communication on how to further strengthen the mining of information data to better promote the application of bid data to the public health and medical system, and the healthy development of GMU education. Both sides also communicated on the construction of the scientific research platform, the integration of clinical resources and the construction of a treatment base for emergent pandemic prevention and control. They agreed to strengthen communication, actively create conditions and do their best to jointly solve the key issues.
    The leaders of FAHGMU, the School of Information Engineering, the Division of Scientific Research, the Division of Enrolment and Vocation Guidance and the relevant Teaching and Researching Offices attended the meeting.
