On the afternoon of July 20, Gannan Medical University (GMU) held a mobilization meeting for the undergraduate nursing majors certification. GMU President Zhang Xiaokang attended the meeting and made a mobilization speech. GMU Vice-President Ye Junming presided over the meeting.

During the meeting, Zhang Xiaokang pointed out that GMU should further accelerate the pace of conforming to the internationalization of education and actively accepting professional accreditation in terms of the significance of international and domestic professional accreditation mechanisms and the development history, so as to promote the development of high-quality education and teaching in GMU.

Zhang Xiaokang stressed that the experts’ group of the Nursing Professional Accreditation Committee of the Ministry of Education will arrive at GMU from November 14 to 18 to carry out on-site inspection, which is a key link of accreditation. All staff and students of GMU should unify thinking, raise awareness and fully understand the importance of carrying out professional certification in nursing majors. Professional accreditation is an important means for the country to strengthen undergraduate education and professional development. All should clarify thinking, define goals and do a good job in preparing for the professional certification of nursing majors. All departments/units should quickly improve the materials, verify the data, carefully sort out and summarize the existing problems, and actively make rectification. All must fully explore the advantages and characteristics of nursing personnel training. Nursing professional certification is not only the certification of the nursing majors, but also a comprehensive review of GMU’s level, which is a very important work for the GMU.

Ye Junming arranged the work related to certification, putting forward specific requirements to make the spirit of this meeting known by each member of every department/unit, implement responsibilities at all levels and make every effort to well complete the task.

Yan Yiming, director of Academic Affairs Division, gave an interpretation of the nursing professional accreditation index system.

Besides, part of meeting attendees, including Ding Mei, dean of the School of Nursing, Xie Shuixiang, dean of School of Basic Medical Sciences, and Zou Xiaofeng, dean of the School of First Clinical Medicine Sciences, made a statement on doing a solid job in nursing professional accreditation.

About 200 people concerned attended the meeting.
