On August 29, Vice-President of Gannan Medical University (GMU) Ye Junming, led a team to Guangzhou to pay a visit to the alumni representatives. She Shouzhang, President of the Guangzhou Liaison Office, and nearly 100 alumni representatives, attended the meeting.

During the meeting, on behalf of GMU, Ye Junming expressed his gratitude to the Guangdong alumni who supported and helped the GMU development for a long time. He also extended congratulations to the alumni of each batch for their achievements in their posts and their positive contributions to the promotion of local economy, society, and medical and health services!

Ye Junming introduced the achievements of GMU over the past 80 years, and then reported the preparations for the gala of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the GMU, and also invited alumni to return to the alma mater to participate in the celebration on October 2, 2021. On behalf of the Guangzhou Liaison Office of the Alumni Association, She Shouzhang congratulated the alma mater on the 80th anniversary of the founding of the GMU and mobilized the majority of alumni to continue to support the development of the alma mater.

After that, with the organization of the Guangzhou Liaison Office of the Alumni Association, the Guangzhou Liaison Office of the Alumni Association and the Guangdong Hospital Association, the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, the Second People’s Hospital of Guangdong Province, the Affiliated Tumor Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, and the First People’s Hospital of Guangzhou, the seminar under the theme of “the Medical Progress in New Era” was jointly held to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of GMU. Ye Junming was invited to give a speech. Vice-President of the Guangdong Hospital Association Liu Minjuan attended the meeting to congratulate the outstanding alumni representatives in Guangdong, including She Shouzhang, Zhai Hongying, Peng Xinsheng, Zeng Wei’an, and invited Huang Wenqi and Shu Haihua to deliver academic lectures.

It is known that the Guangzhou Liaison Office of the Alumni Association also made use of the opportunity of this seminar to organize alumni in Guangdong to carry out donations to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the GMU for the development of the alma mater. At present, the Guangzhou Alumni Association has donated a total of 300,000 Yuan, and the alumni donation are still in progress.
