On April 18, the 2nd (60 ones in total) "Rongjiang Forum" in 2023, jointly organized by the Division of Scientific Research and Industry Department, Scientific Research Center, and Youth Research Workers' Association, opened. Dr. Zhao Weidong from the School of Medical Information Engineering and Dr. Liu Dongxu from the School of Basic Medicine Sciences respectively gave lectures. GMU Vice-President Peng Weijie attended the forum.
Zhao Weidong, under the theme of "Application of Molecular Recognition Based on Atomic Force Microscope in Biology", explained the important role of studying the location of specific biomolecules on cell membrane in understanding cell function, and described the molecular recognition imaging technology based on atomic force microscope to locate specific proteins or chromatin and other biomolecules at the single molecular level, so as to study the distribution of important receptors on cells, the conformation and dynamic changes of proteins.
Liu Dongxu, under the theme of "The Mechanism of Thermistic Moxibustion on Intestinal Inflammation in Rats with Irritable Bowel Syndrome", explained the background and advantages of Thermistic Moxibustion in treating Irritable Bowel Syndrome, introduced the modeling methods and evaluation standards of rats with Post Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome, and elaborated on the effectiveness of Thermistic Moxibustion in alleviating intestinal hypersensitivity in rats with Post Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome, and heat sensitive moxibustion therapy being used to improve the intestinal low-grade inflammation and oxidative stress response of model rats by regulating the NLRP6/Nrf2 signaling pathway.
The forum attracted doctoral staff and graduates from the School of Basic Medicine Sciences, the School of Pharmacy, the School of Medical Information Engineering, the School of the First Clinical Medicine Sciences, the Scientific Research Center, and key laboratories, and they held a warm discussion on scientific research ideas and experimental design.
